The samples contained were made to address our curiousity regarding high-resolution recording in ambient and live concert applications. 

As many people speculate that the benefits of higher-resolution/word lengths may have limited impact in field recording applications, the samples demonstrate the benefits first-hand.

Please note that we have tried to match levels and keep all comparisons equal and limited to only one variable (the sample rate or word length).

With a 24-bit/96kHz soundcard, each file, in .flac format, can be played directly at its respective sample rate and word length in Winamp 2.81 or lower (with flac plug-in). For those who will be converted the .flac files to .wav, we have included the .sfk (Sound Forge) and .gpk (Wavelab) peak files.  


Please be aware that these files are NOT for use with devices that do not support 24-bit and up to 96kHz sample rates.
