The Roland AIRA series has been a huge hit in the electronic music community. With all new drum machines, bass synthesizers, vocal effects, and compact synthesizers, Roland gave us an entire live performance or production machine. Now, Roland has added something new to the AIRA family that sits at the center of it all – the AIRA MX-1 Mix Performer. Check out our new video below that shows Ed Dias from roland going over the top features and giving a quick demo of the unit in action. Watch and enjoy!
Roland has been teasing us with previews of what’s to come in the next era of their synthesizers. In 2014, Roland released four new powerful electronic instruments that brought back some classic instruments that shaped the sound of most of the popular music we hear today. The new AIRA series features a multitude of instruments from drum machines, bass synthesizers, vocal effects processors, and a lead synth. With the analog circuit behavior technology in each of these units, Roland created new, updated versions of classic instruments that model the actual analog circuitry from classic instruments such as the TR-303, the TR-808, and the TR-909. With the new AIRA TR-8 drum machine, TB-3 touch bassline synthesizer, the VT-3 Vocal Transformer, and the SYSTEM-1 lead Synthesizer. We were itching to start playing with these, and we are in the process of creating a video series outlining the sound and features of the new AIRA series. First off, check out our videos featuring the Roland AIRA TB-3 with some cool vocoder effects from the AIRA VT-3, the new AIRA TR-8 drum machine, and the AIRA System-1 Synthesizer.
