EWS88
D
While based on the technology used in the AudioSystem EWS88 MT, the
"D" model provides 10 digital audio channels. The optical
TOS-Link interface (light pipe) can handle either 8 channels in ADAT™
format, or a stereo S/PDIF signal (up to 24-bit and 96kHz). In addition
to standard 16- and 20-bit, state of the art 24-bit resolutions can
also be transferred. Also, 2 independent MIDI ports and an S/PDIF
interface with coaxial connections (up to 24-bit and 96 kHz) is available
to which the ADAT™ signal can be routed or mixed – the
EWS88 D can thus also serve as a converter and/or down-mixer.

EWX
24-96
In addition to the analog stereo In and Outputs (cinch!) there is
an optical digital In and Output (TOS link) for all standard formats
up to 24Bit und 96kHz at your disposal. These operate without any
sample rate conversion and thereby deliver a 1:1 (bit-true) perfect
recording. And DTS or AC3 streams can also be transfered in the so-called
non-audio mode over the digital Out from a software DVD- player to
an external Dolby-Digital-receiver. The digital Input on the EWX 24/96
also allows itself to be configured so that a digital audio Out (TTL)
from a CD drive can be connected. |

EWS88
MT
Eight high-quality analog input and output converters process audio
signals (continuously from the hardware to the software) with up to
24 bit and 96 kHz. The converters - and a full-scale MIDI interface
- are housed in a 5 1/4" module that can be mounted in a PC drive
bay or installed externally. The PCI card itself also features connections
for S/PDIF devices (coaxial, e.g. for DAT or MiniDisk), as well as
an independent SystemSound (Monitor) output for the reproduction of
system sounds or software synthesizers without interfering with your
favorite hard-disk recording application. Even cascading the EWS systems
under one another is possible without a problem. The number of simultaneously
available inputs and outputs can thus be increased by the use of up
to three additional systems with EWS |

EWS
Clock
EWS cards with EWS Connect can be connected internally to the EWS
ClockWork module to ensure perfect synchronization with the digital
outside world. The module can either transfer the clock signal of
a master EWS card to all external devices with a minimum of jitter,
or it can follow an external clock. Up to 4 EWS cards with EWS Connect
in the computer can be coupled in parallel to the word clock signal
using only a single EWS ClockWork module. |
